Referral letter
You need a referral letter from your GP (or other medical specialist) in order to see most specialists.
You do not need a referral to see a
- psychiatrist,
- gynecologist,
- dermatologist,
- sexual health specialist,
- pulmonologist (in cases of suspected tuberculosis),
- ophthalmologist,
- dentist,
- trauma specialist (within the first 24 hours of the trauma occurring) or surgeon.
If you are covered by health insurance, but do not have a referral letter or you are looking to obtain health care services without having to wait, you can schedule an appointment with extra charge.
